This page holds a place in the catalogue structure. The specification shows the indicative figures published for this instrument class so the layout can be reviewed; it does not describe a supplied product. Confirmed values, brand and documentation are issued with the quotation for the model actually sourced.

Internal motorised weight
Response time
≤ 4 s

An analytical balance is defined by its readability rather than its capacity: 0.1 mg is the threshold that separates a precision balance from an analytical one, and it is the point at which draughts, vibration, temperature and static electricity begin to affect the reading more than the mass being measured.

Installation therefore matters as much as the instrument. A balance on a bench that carries a centrifuge or a door that opens onto a corridor will drift and will not settle, and no amount of calibration will fix it. A stable bench, away from draughts, given time to reach thermal equilibrium, is a prerequisite rather than an optimisation.

Features

  • Electromagnetic force compensation cell for stable readings at 0.1 mg
  • Internal motorised calibration weight, so calibration does not depend on an external set
  • Full glass draft shield with sliding side panels and a hinged top
  • Application modes for counting, percentage weighing, density and statistics
  • RS232 output for connection to a PC or a printer

Certification and compliance

Certification documents not yet supplied

Certifications are only published once a certificate copy can be produced, so this section is deliberately empty rather than populated with assumed approvals. Tell us which approvals your application requires and we will confirm what is available for this instrument.

Parameters still to be confirmed

The following are required for a complete specification but are not stated in the documentation supplied to us. They are listed rather than estimated:

  • Certification list (CE / RoHS / EMC) and availability of certificate copies
  • Accuracy reference standard defining the stated accuracy class
  • Operating temperature range
  • Ingress protection rating of the supplied variant
  • Warranty period and the terms that apply
  • English-language datasheet and manual in PDF form
  • Wiring diagram and terminal definitions
  • Packaging dimensions and gross weight for freight calculation

Frequently asked questions

Why does the reading keep drifting?

Almost always the environment rather than the balance: a draughty bench, a nearby centrifuge, direct sunlight or a recent move that has not been followed by a warm-up period. The instrument needs a stable thermal environment before its specification applies.

When should it be calibrated?

The internal weight should be run at the start of each session, or whenever the temperature changes noticeably. An annual verification against external traceable weights is the usual requirement for a quality system.
